For Immediate Release
Gary Eberle has long been considered a Pioneer of Paso Robles winemaking. In the mid-1970's, he was heading his family's Estrella River Winery (currently Meridian Vineyards in Paso Robles) and producing 500,000 cases a year at its facility. But Gary Eberle was soon ready to spread his wings, and in 1979 produced the first vintage of his own Eberle wine.

Now, more than two decades later, Eberle has a long list of credits to his career. In 1980, he co-founded the Paso Robles appellation. He is also credited as the first U.S. winemaker to produce a 100% Syrah. Today, Eberle consistently remains one of the highest award-winning wineries in the United States. Even the White House knows Eberle wine. President Ronald Reagan chose Eberle Cabernet Sauvignon to take on his historic trip to China in 1985. And in 2003, Governor-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger served Eberle wine when President George W. Bush visited California.

For Gary, it just goes to show that a dream can be a powerful thing. And after 25 years, his dream has always remained the same-to produce some of the best wine California has to offer…and have a great time doing it!

Join us throughout 2004 as we celebrate our Silver Anniversary with special events, new wine releases (including 1999 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon!) and more!
