Awards - 2016 Monterey Wine Competition

The 2016 Monterey International Wine Competition took place last month at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds. With 600 entries, they awarded 37 Platinum award winners, 159 Gold Award winners and 223 Silver Award Winners. We were ecstatic with the results!

Tasting Notes: Rich, juicy flavors of black cherry, ripe raspberries and plum coat the palate with notes of baking spices, toasted oak and chewy tannins. A blend of 39% Mourvèdre, 31% Grenache, 21% Syrah and 9% Durif.

Tasting Notes: Enticing aromas of orange blossoms and spicy ripe apricots with mouth-watering flavors of candied ginger and white peach with a crisp citrus finish. 

GOLD MEDAL - 2014 Steinbeck Syrah

Tasting Notes: With a beautiful violet hue, this wine is a classic example of a delicious Paso Robles Syrah. Dark cherry, black current, baking spices and earth grab you right off the bat, with mouth-watering acidity and chalky tannins.
